Julia Volchkova was born on October 18th, 1987 in Nizhnevartovsk, a remote Siberian town in Russia. Since her childhood, Volchkova has been pursuing art. She started professional art education in 1993 in Nizhnevartovsk State University. The year 2006 marked her initiation into the art of graffiti, when she took a spray can and drew the first street graffiti in her town.
Subsequently, she pursued a formal education in art and graduated from the Nizhnevartovsk State University in 2010 earning a degree in Arts and Design. In her studies, she was particularly focused on the classical academic art based on a strong Russian school of fine arts, which she brought to street art in the creation of murals around the world and artworks on canvases. All of Julia’s life experiences, from being raised in a dying Siberian town, to propelling herself into a successful career as a world-renowned artist, and finally to winning the Worldwide Excellence Award, are manifested in her artwork.
